Salaries vary by establishment and region. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) info show that full-time gaming managers were paid a median annual salary of $46,820 in 1999. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $26,630, and the highest ten per cent earned approximately $96,610.

Gaming supervisors oversee gaming operations and staff in an assigned area. Circulating among the tables, they see that all stations and games are covered for each shift. It also is normal for supervisors to interpret the casino’s operating standards for clients. Supervisors can also plan and arrange activities for guests staying in their casino hotels.

Gaming supervisors must have certain leadership qualities and top notch communication skills. They need these skills both to supervise workers properly and to greet players in order to inspire return visits. Practically all casino supervisory staff have an associate or bachelor’s degree. Despite their educational background, however, most supervisors gain expertise in other gaming jobs before moving into supervisory desks because an understanding of games and casino operations is essential for these staff.
